The Parks and Rec board along with Gilbert Town Council are planning to build a massive park in SE Gilbert
area called Chandler Heights Basin. This park is 272 acres which is the size of 4 of our parks combined ( Discovery,
Crossroads, Freestone and McQueen).
Phase one is the conceptual design aspect which the Town Council approved (except for Jared Taylor and Victor Petersen) at the cost of $732,000. They are unable to give us the total cost of the project from start to finish. The cost of the entire project will be given to taxpayers after phase 1 is completed.
I asked Mayor Lewis if the size of the park could be scaled down and he said YES.
Maintenance costs are unknown.
