In January, 2014, the AZ Voices system was unveiled and promoted as a new means of contacting legislators. It was supposed to be a straw poll to let legislators know the opinion of the general public regarding legislative bills submitted to the AZ legislature. At the time, the idea sounded good. In fact, it appeared to be a possible substitute for e-mails and phone calls. There was always some apprehension because a major player in the AZ Voices was Sen. Bob Worsley, who is not a friend of grassroots conservatives.
That apprehension has turned into a red alarm recently as the result of some promotional material e-mailed by AZ Voices to its subscribers, and the discovery of more information regarding AZ Voices. Consequently, we at the AZRRT are recommending that people DO NOT sign up for this service. We are recommending instead that citizen input be done via the usual communication channels like e-mails and phone calls. We are also recommending the wide use of the AZLEG/RTS system for testifying on bills that are scheduled for committee hearings.
